Public Involvement
Representative of USFS Coconino National Forest, NPS Walnut Canyon National Monument, the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, and the Arizona State Trust recently participated in a two-day workshop to develop preliminary management options per the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 (Act) (see newsletter #2). The Act directs the agencies to look at options that: 1) protect resources within the study area; and (2) provide for continued public access to, and use of the study area.
The partner agencies are hosting three open houses to present the preliminary management options, and provide opportunities to discuss and answer questions regarding these preliminary options. The events are on the dates and at the locations below:

How to Provide Comments and Input
Comments may be submitted in several ways. Your comments only need to be submitted by one of the following means:
- Electronically via the Project Website, Comment Entry Page at http://www.walnutcanyonstudy.org.
- Attend and submit comments at a public meeting to be held in May, 2011 at the following locations listed above.

If you choose to submit written comments by mail, submit them in an unbound format, no larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches, and suitable for copying and electronic filing. We will consider all comments and material received during the comment periods. Comments will become part of this project and a summary posted to this website when each phase of public input is completed. Comments will be accepted through July 31, 2011.
